The Maharashtra government on March 31ST decided not to extend the stamp duty waiver on property registrations and kept the Ready Reckoner Rates unchanged for the financial year 2021-22,Regular stamp duty rates will be applicable from April 1 onwards.
The 1% stamp duty waiver for women homebuyers announced on March 8 will be applicable from April 1, revenue minister Balasaheb Thorat tweeted.The deadline for the 2% stamp duty waiver was to expire on March 31.Stamp Duty waiver decision of Maharashtra Government has been given big booster to real estate market in Pune & Mumbai city. Due to this reduction in last two quarter of FY 2020-21 highest sales has been executed in real estate market.
On August 26, the state government decided to temporarily reduce stamp duty on housing units from 5 percent to 2 percent until December 31, 2020. Stamp duty from Jan 1, 2021, until March 31, 2021, was at 3 percent.
